- Another data point on time to get license.
-
- Test taken: 11 May 1994
- License Issued: 15 July 1994
-
- Postmarked: 19 July 1994
-
- Received in mail: 21 July 1994
-
-
-
- Total elapsed time from test to mailbox: 10 weeks, 1 day.
-
-
-
- Apparently they have used all the 1x3 calls for region 6, as my
-
- no-code tech is issued KE6JTN.
-
- I noticed in the lower right corner of the license "FCC FORM 660
-
- MAY 1994". Perhaps the FCC was delaying issue of others until the
-
- (new?) form came on-line.
-
- Now I need to decide which 2M rig to buy. I'd like to get
- one with AM aircraft receive, as I am also a private pilot. Any
- recommendations? TIA,

- Try looking 11KHz above the bottom of the General portion of the bands. Thats where
- all 12 NASA centers will be working, +/- QRM.

- My copy of the Lloyds of London -Handbook For Radio Operators- says
- that QOA through QQZ are reserved for the maritime mobile service, and
- it only lists codes in that range. Interestingly enough, QST is
- undefined. I've not done a search to see if there's a signal that
- means the same as QLF defined, but I suspect not.
